Agribusiness: Proposed Changes to two Agricultural and Horticultural Science Achievement Standards

Agribusiness Development:  Proposed Changes to Agricultural and Horticultural Science Achievement Standards

The Ministry of Education is developing support for Agribusiness programmes of learning in the senior secondary school.  This involves guidance for teaching and learning and drafting a NCEA Levels 2-3 matrix and achievement standards.

Because Agribusiness draws on learning from across more than one curriculum learning area the Ministry has considered the suitability of some existing achievement standards.   The following achievement standards have been identified as ones that with minor amendment could be used to assess parts of agribusiness programmes; proposed changes will not limit current users.

91294 Agricultural and Horticultural Science 2.6 Demonstrate understanding of how NZ commercial management practices influence livestock growth and development, and

91530 Agricultural and Horticultural Science 3.3 Demonstrate understanding of how market forces affect supply of and demand for New Zealand primary products

The Ministry is consulting on proposed minor amendments to these two standards.  To see these proposals, and to provide any comments on them, click on this link Consultation Questionnaire for Ag/Ht Standards.
