Level 3 German assessment resources
These resources are guides to effective assessment and should not be used as actual assessment.
These are publicly available resources so you (education providers, teachers and schools) must modify them to ensure that student work is authentic.
You will need to set a different context or topic to be investigated, identify different texts to read or perform, or change figures, measurements or data sources to ensure that students can demonstrate what they know and can do.

Level 3 achievement standards for German
Annotated exemplars - German - exemplars of student work or expected student responses (written by subject moderators).
German subject resources - for all levels, including assessment resources and exemplars for externally assessed standards.
NZQA approved assessment resources
The updated NCEA Level 3 Conditions of Assessment (CoAs) for all languages were published on TKI in January 2025.
The new Level 3 CoAs include the following changes:
- Exclusion of teacher feedback and the use of AI
- Inclusion of an authenticity statement.
‘A’ versions of Internal Assessment Activities (Assessment resources) on TKI have been updated to reflect these changes.
‘B’ versions of Internal Assessment Activities will be updated for use in 2026.
The updated CoAs must be applied to ALL internal assessment activities - A or B - from 2025.
